Founded in 1853 the University of Melbourne is the pinnacle of higher education. Internationally recognised, it has interest in and co-operation with institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region.The current international student representation is around 15% of enrolments. The large campus is less than a kilometre from the Central Business District and also features beautiful parkland, sporting facilities and historic buildings.
Some of the many faculties include: Law, Medicine, Economics and Commerce, Engineering, Dentistry, Agriculture and Forestry, Architecture and Planning, Arts, Health Sciences, The Institute of Education and the Graduate School of Management. A one year Foundation Studies program, supervised by Melbourne University, is provided by Trinity College.
